Can a chiropractor treat an injury under a NSW CTP claim?+
Chiropractic treatment may be funded for an eligible NSW CTP claim when it relates to the motor-accident injury and the relevant insurer requirements are met. Approval requirements can vary, so bring your claim and insurer details.
Can I see a chiropractor for a NSW workplace injury?+
Yes. SIRA-approved chiropractors can provide services for eligible Workers Compensation claims. Claim acceptance, eligibility for medical expenses and insurer funding should be confirmed.
Do I need a GP referral for Workers Compensation chiropractic care?+
NSW chiropractors do not require a GP referral to commence Workers Compensation treatment. Claim acceptance, eligibility for medical expenses and the insurer’s funding requirements should still be confirmed before the appointment.
Do I need insurer approval for CTP chiropractic treatment?+
Approval requirements vary between NSW CTP claims. Call the clinic with your claim number and insurer details so the relevant pathway can be checked before your first appointment.
Who pays for CTP or Workers Compensation chiropractic care?+
The relevant insurer may fund approved treatment for an eligible accepted claim. The insurer makes the final claim-specific decisions about approval and payment.
What should I bring to my first claim appointment?+
Bring your claim number, insurer and case-manager details, date of the accident or workplace injury, relevant certificates, reports or scans, and any treatment approval correspondence.
Will treatment be provided at the initial appointment?+
The initial appointment includes a history, relevant physical and functional assessment, explanation of findings and treatment. Treatment is provided once the claim pathway has been confirmed, it is clinically appropriate and you have consented.
Can chiropractic care address neck or back pain after a motor accident?+
A chiropractor can assess musculoskeletal symptoms such as neck or back pain after a motor accident and determine whether chiropractic treatment and rehabilitation are appropriate. Urgent or specialist referral is arranged when indicated.
What is tracked during SIRA chiropractic care?+
We assess symptoms and functional limitations, agree on recovery goals, use relevant outcome measures and review progress. For workplace claims, goals may include safe recovery at or return to work.
What is an Allied Health Treatment Request?+
An Allied Health Treatment Request, or AHTR, records the current presentation, progress, recovery barriers and proposed treatment. It is used to request insurer approval when required.
Will Yeonsei communicate with my insurer?+
Where required, we submit treatment requests and provide relevant progress information to the insurer or case manager. Additional reports are prepared when requested and appropriately approved.
