Hip, knee, ankle and foot symptoms can affect walking, stairs, work and exercise. Dr Kevin Park assesses the painful area, related joints, strength and movement before explaining an individual plan.

Understanding your symptoms
Pain or stiffness around the hip, knee, ankle or foot may follow a change in activity, an injury, repeated loading or a longer-term joint or tendon problem. Symptoms can also be influenced by the lower back or another part of the movement chain. An assessment helps identify likely contributors, screen for conditions that need medical review and choose practical next steps.
Reasons people book
These are common reasons people book an assessment. They are not diagnoses, and appropriate care depends on the clinical findings.
Discomfort with walking, sitting, standing from a chair, lying on one side or climbing stairs.
Symptoms with stairs, squatting, kneeling, standing, walking or a change in activity.
Pain during standing, walking or loading that affects balance, footwear or daily activity.
Stiffness or loss of confidence that makes everyday tasks and exercise harder.
Persistent pain with loading around the hip, knee, ankle or foot that needs an appropriate assessment.
Lower-limb pain, tingling or weakness that may also involve the lower back or nervous system.
Your initial appointment
Treatment is included in every initial consultation after the assessment, when clinically appropriate and with your consent.
We discuss when symptoms began, recent activity changes, injuries, walking or work demands, footwear, previous care and your goals.
The examination may include hip, knee, ankle and foot movement, strength, balance, gait, functional tasks and relevant spinal or neurological tests.
Dr Kevin explains the findings, likely contributors, care options and whether medical review, imaging or another referral should be considered.
Treatment is included at the initial consultation after assessment. It may include mobilisation, manipulation, soft tissue therapy and guided exercise when appropriate and with your consent.
Individualised care
Depending on the assessment, management may include joint mobilisation, manipulation when appropriate, soft tissue therapy, movement advice and progressive strengthening or balance exercise. Radial shockwave therapy may be considered for selected tendon-related presentations after assessment.
No single treatment suits every hip, knee or foot problem. Recommendations are adapted to the examination, your preferences, response to care and any need for medical referral.

Your chiropractor
Dr Kevin Park provides musculoskeletal assessment, manual therapy, shockwave therapy when appropriate and progressive exercise rehabilitation for lower-limb concerns.

Sometimes. Lower-back or nerve-related conditions can refer pain or altered sensation into the hip or leg. The assessment considers the painful area as well as relevant spinal and neurological findings.
Appropriate care depends on the cause. After assessment, management may include joint mobilisation, soft tissue therapy, movement advice and exercise, or referral when another service is more suitable.
Radial shockwave therapy may be considered for selected tendon-related presentations. It is not suitable for every cause of hip, knee or foot pain and is only recommended after assessment.
Imaging is not automatically required. Dr Kevin will consider the history and examination and explain if medical review or imaging may change management.
Yes. Every initial consultation includes treatment after the history and physical assessment, when clinically appropriate and with your consent.
Comfortable clothing that allows the hip, knee, ankle or foot to move is helpful. Shorts can make examination easier, but the clinic will work with your comfort and privacy.
