Lower-back pain
Pain, stiffness or restricted movement affecting sitting, standing, bending, lifting or exercise.
YEONSEICHIROPRACTIC & PILATESBook onlineBack pain & sciatica care
Individual assessment, hands-on chiropractic care and rehabilitation for lower-back pain, sciatica, radiating leg pain and related nerve symptoms.

Understanding your symptoms
Lower-back pain may feel localised, stiff, sharp or aching. Sciatica can involve pain travelling from the back or buttock into the leg, sometimes with tingling, numbness or weakness. Because these symptoms can have different causes, care begins with a clinical assessment rather than a one-size-fits-all treatment plan.
Reasons people book
Each presentation is assessed individually to determine whether chiropractic care, rehabilitation or referral is appropriate.
Pain, stiffness or restricted movement affecting sitting, standing, bending, lifting or exercise.
Symptoms extending through the buttock or leg, with or without tingling, numbness or weakness.
Back or leg symptoms where a disc may be one consideration alongside the full clinical picture.
Symptoms associated with prolonged sitting, repetitive tasks, lifting or sustained work positions.
Back pain during running, lifting, training or return to activity after an injury.
Assessment of repeated flare-ups, contributing factors and practical strategies for ongoing management.
Your initial appointment
Treatment is included in every initial consultation after the assessment, when clinically appropriate and with your consent.
Discuss your symptoms, activities, previous episodes, health history and goals.
Relevant movement, orthopaedic and neurological findings are examined.
Findings, care options and any need for investigation or referral are explained.
Appropriate treatment begins, followed by practical advice about the next steps.
Individualised care
Depending on your assessment and preferences, care may include spinal manipulation or mobilisation, soft-tissue therapy, activity advice and progressive rehabilitation or exercise. Your response is reviewed and the plan is adjusted as needed.
No particular outcome can be guaranteed. Some presentations require medical review, imaging or referral instead of—or alongside—chiropractic care.

Meet Dr Kevin ParkFrequently asked questions
Lower-back pain may stay around the back, pelvis or buttock. Sciatica describes symptoms related to the sciatic nerve and can include pain, tingling, numbness or weakness extending into the leg. Similar symptoms can have different causes, so an individual assessment is important.
Yes. Dr Kevin Park assesses lower-back pain, sciatica and nerve-related symptoms. The consultation may include movement, orthopaedic and neurological testing to help determine whether chiropractic care or rehabilitation is appropriate, or whether further investigation or referral is needed.
Disc-related conditions can be associated with back pain and symptoms such as numbness, tingling or weakness in a leg. A disc finding on a scan does not automatically explain every symptom, so clinical findings and symptom behaviour are considered together.
Not routinely. Existing imaging and reports can be reviewed, but further imaging is generally considered only when the history or examination indicates it may change management or when referral is appropriate.
Depending on the assessment findings and your preferences, care may include spinal manipulation or mobilisation, soft-tissue therapy, activity advice and progressive rehabilitation or exercise. Treatment is individualised and no particular result can be guaranteed.
Yes. Every initial consultation includes treatment after the history and physical assessment, provided it is clinically appropriate and you consent. The findings and next steps are also explained during the appointment.
The initial chiropractic consultation and treatment is 30 minutes and costs $101.50. Eligible private health insurance claims can be processed through HICAPS, and Medicare rebates may apply with a valid GP Chronic Condition Management Plan referral.
